About a month ago Bree's little brother Andy got married to a beautiful girl named Jill. Bree was part of the wedding party but she couldn't NOT take any pictures! So she of course dragged a camera along with her and captured she was she could. Here's what she had to say about the day. . .
"Andy & Jill got married in downtown Sacramento at the Capitol Plaza Ballrooms. What a beautiful old building! Everything about it was vintage right down to the man-operated elevator. And the ceiling in the room they got married in was gorgeous. It was nice because all of the bridesmaids were able to get ready on the top floor of the building then all we had to do was go downstairs for the ceremony and reception!
The ceremony was sweet and heartfelt. I, of course, cried. (Oh and thanks to my gal pal Janelle for snapping a few shots during the ceremony!) My new little sister got so excited when she saw her ring she squealed. She hadn't seen it yet!
After the ceremony we all headed to the basement for the reception and some yummy Mexican food. Have you ever had Mexican at a wedding? I hadn't but it was so good! We ate and laughed and did lots of dancing. The DJ was AWESOME! He was a friend of the bride's family and did such an amazing job. He even had all of us singing Journey at the top of our lungs. All in all it was an absolutely perfect day and I was so blessed to be a part of it! Congratulations Andy & Jill!
Bree's brother-in-law Josh turned 30 a few weeks ago and her sister threw a fabulous party for him! It was a 50's style Beach Bash. Bree said they had such a blast!
There was a water slide, volleyball, badminton, a watermelon eating contest for the guys and a hula hoop contest for the girls! Everyone dressed up in their 50's beach wear and celebrated the birthday boy. These people really know how to throw a party!
After the yummy hamburgers and all the games were played they set up an outdoor theater on the side of the garage and watched old movies like "Rebel Without a Cause" (Josh's favorite actor is James Dean!). Sounds like the perfect birthday to me! Thanks for sharing Bree and happy birthday Josh!
The latest of my favorites to be watching as I'm processing wedding images is the HBO series True Blood. My friend Jen told me about the series and I couldn't wait to watch it when it recently came out. Every night is a popcorn night if I'm watching a True Blood Episode.
Teresa and I had such a blast when, in April, we headed to San Francisco to shoot for the Lavish and Lovely tablescape shoot for Today's Bride magazine. The location was at the prestigious Robert Fountain Studios. It was such a pleasure to be invited to work with some of the best vendors in the San Francisco area. The summer 2009 issue just came out last week!
The first table design was by the super sweet Michelle of MB Wedding Design & Events. The backdrop was printed velon by Robert Fountain. Favors (Lovely) by Beau-Coup and Menus/Favors (Lavish) by Studio Ayt. Menus (Lovely) by Cards de Luxe. Floral Designer was Violetta Flowers. Rentals, Linens and Tableware by Hartmann Studios. The 2nd table design was by the fabulous Taylor of Ha Le Events. Cake by Cake Expressions. Favors by Beau-Coup. Floral Designer was Flower Divas. Place cards by Union Street Papery. Walls and Counter by Hartmann Studios.
A special Thank You to Cristine of Today's Bride and her entire crew for putting together such a great shoot. It was such a pleasure and honor to work with all of you again. Click the below image to see more great work from these vendors. Enjoy!
