  • The next post in our Bootcamp Pets series is a combo of Carie and Jasmine shots. It's also a combo of Carie and Jasmine's dogs. :o) Rocco is fearless and loves to try to get the cuz from Ty. I love that they are playing tug of war with something so small. Carie caught these first few, then there's a Jasmine shot and a picture of Jasmine taking a picture. Love it! Keep up the practice girls!

  • I couldn't resist posting these shots next in our Bootcamp Pet series. Have you ever seen a French Bulldog? Oh my! Turns out Rocco's got a French Bulldog buddy and thankfully Jasmine caught a few shots of them playing together. This is just a small sample. We were all laughing out loud at all the photos of these two wrestling. Hilarious! Winston (the Frenchy) is quite the ham too. I love his pose in the middle picture and Jasmine's excellent use of the "framing" technique in the last shot. Nice work, Jasmine.

  • Last Thursday night I met with Hiroko and Dan for their "date night" engagement session in Woodland, California. Hiroko and Dan are getting married at a friend's home in Woodland this May 2010. Dan and Cherie is the home that Hiroko first came to America as an exchange student. And that was many years ago. I was able to meet Dan and Cherie at their home as we started our evening so I could "scope out the venue" before the wedding day. Cherie is so welcoming and I instantly fell in love with her warmth and hospitality. Not to mention she has TONS of books....a woman after my own heart.

Their charming home will be the backdrop to Dan and Hiroko's wedding day photos.

This first series I think is my absolute favorite!

  • I was so glad we were able to just sit and talk for more than the first hour. I had not met Dan yet, and Hiroko I've known for quite some time now. Hiroko had told me that Dan was funny and made her laugh a lot - and now I know why. I cried I was laughing so hard.

  • After leaving Cherie and Dan's home, we went up the street to a few areas I had spotted (and since I used to live in Woodland during grad school days).

  • Again, Dan made us all laugh. I just love the authenticity of these moments.

  • Just as we had that best "glow light" of the evening we hit some wonderful spots. This is another of my favorite photos of the day.

  • Look for Hiroko and Dan's Woodland wedding photos coming in May!

  • Next in our Bootcamp Pets series is Rocco. Jasmine's Boston Terrier, Rocco is a crazy little guy. He's full of energy and Carie is surprised Jasmine can get so many great shots of him as he is always on the go. His personality is way bigger than he is! I love this series from Jasmine. Nice job, Jas! Love the under bite, Rocco!

  • I had fun teasing Jasmine about making Rocco pose on a pink scarf. Low and behold she said he jumps up there all the time. This is a great example of how good a photo can be if you turn your subject just slightly into the light. Of course Rocco did this pose all on his own. He's a natural!

  • Pets are such good subject matter for photos. All our bootcamp attendees have been practicing like crazy and of course end up with lots of pics of pets. We don't mind! We've been enjoying all the adorable animals in everyone's lives and hope our readers are enjoying our Bootcamp Pets series. The following beauty is Heather's cat, Layla. She's not fat, she's just big boned!!!!! When Heather rescued Layla she was emaciated. Now she's a beautiful, healthy kitty thanks to Heather's good care. Jasmine took these shots during one of her frequent visits to heather's casa. That is Layla's favorite spot on Heather's bed.
