  • I think I flew from San Diego to Seattle on my own creative and emotional high - just kiddin' - I flew in a plane. :-) But seriously, timing couldn't have been more perfect when Me Ra Koh announced her two day advanced workshop. Since I was already planning to be out of the office, I couldn't resist. Me Ra is a personal inspiration to me, as well as to many other women out there, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to meet her and spend time with her, her husband Brian, and the 20 other workshop attendees. You really need to read about Me Ra - and I'd be happy to loan out my copy of her book to anyone interested - just email me and I'll drop it in the mail to you.

Me Ra and Brian shoot together as a team, much like Cory and I do. It was amazing to hear and see how they work together and how their two distinct styles blend so well together. I rely on Cory the same way Me Ra relies on Brian. I know Cory will get that perfect shot. Cory and Brian both tend to zoom right in and get the emotional (caught off guard) images that we all love. I have so much I could share with you about this workshop (and I plan to post other attendee websites soon) but I'll end my tired evening with these few images that I captured of Me Ra and Brian in action during the workshop. It was my honor to capture the workshop in action for Me Ra and Brian - I can't wait to see you both again soon!Me Ra Koh WorkshopMe Ra Koh Workshop2Me Ra Koh Workshop3Me Ra Koh Workshop4

  • As I've just returned from being gone for over a week at two different workshops, I must say I'm overwhelmed with the experience. The time in San Diego with Jesh De Rox and Jaclyn and Nate Kaisar from The Image is Found was....words just can't express it. I feel my photography has moved to an entirely new level - both technically and personally. The other 9 workshop attendees were all amazing and they each shared so much about themselves and their lives and their work. I invite you each to check out my new found friends:

    Kathy from Heavens Eye Photography
    Shannon Sewell
    Justin Demers
    Heather Cole
    Lisa Roah
    Susan from En Pointe Photography
    Sara France
    Ed Atrero
and my dear friend Sarah Maren

I can't wait to share my new found outlook on photography and life with my clients. Jhanea and Lawrence look out - your wedding is next! You're going to see a whole new me! I already feel so lucky to have the clients I do - I really love them all. There isn't a single one of them that doesn't move me in some way and I hope to capture your beauty and love in your images.

  • During our Life as an Art Form workshop in San Diego we had the surprise pleasure of hearing Amy Seeley perform - for just the 10 of us at the workshop! You must check out her work - she is so moving and beautiful. Can you imagine her voice exploding in a small studio?! It was simply awesome. It brought tears to my eyes. We each then had a turn at trying to capture her beauty in a mini 15 minute photo session. And better yet - half a dozen of us spent even more time getting to know her over dinner that evening. Here are my two favorites from my time with her.Amy Seeley Amy Seeley 2

  • Meet Leah and Rob. I photographed them during a mini engagement photo session in Sacramento before I left for San Diego last weekend. I'm now in Seattle and finally have a better internet connection and wanted to share a few images with you from our time together. I told Rob he is super lucky - as I watched Leah look upon him adoringly. I can't wait until we do our full engagement session in the spring. We already have a really cool location picked out!Sacramento Engagement PhotographerSacramento Engagement Photographer2Sacramento Engagement Photographer3

  • We've come to a close on day 2 of the Life (as an art form) workshop. It's been fascinating to work with only 10 photographers in close quarters, and being mentored by Jesh de Rox, and Nate and Jaclyn Kaiser (of the Image is Found). I have so much to share but time is short when there is so much to soak in over three days. Check back soon for more! and when I've had more sleep.

Thanks for the well wishes and thoughts during these last few horrific days of fires. We are safe where we are located, but a few of the workshop attendees who are local to this area were affected by the evacuations. It's amazing to see their outlooks and spirits. The air still continues to be very nasty to breathe and ash continues to fall in the air. But we were able to get down to the ocean today for a photo shoot and it was a nice change of pace to smell ocean air instead.
