Kirsten and I photographed Amit's 50th birthday party recently, and Amit's wife Carol, gave us one of the best compliments. It was so meaningful, I had to share. Carol told us, "You earnestly seemed to take interest in each and every person you photograph."
I hope this storyboard is an indication of just how much we loved attending Amit's birthday party and shows off just how much we love what we do and how much we love all our clients...each and every person we photograph.
So we read on Yahoo about the "Spectacular Meteor Shower and Rare Planet Alignment Coincide" and we were all over it. We headed to the hills where we didn't have city lights. We not only got to see Mars, Venus, and Saturn, but also Jupiter all in one night. And we were enjoying the night air as we watched the many meteors streak across the sky on Friday night. Give this animated gif a second to load, and then you'll see how 30 second shutter speed set on time lapse captured some great meteor streaks.
Yesterday was my birthday and all week I received fun gifts from friends. I just love that my friends know exactly the perfect things to brighten my day. Fun socks, candles, beautiful coffee cups, Buffy and X-Files, Stephanie Meyer's new book, Havaiana flip flops, Teddy bears, and even my own little Yoo Hoo. And of course they package all this fun in the brightest and cheeriest bags and tissue.
We are so happy that Keith's video entry has won him a spot in this year's Beer Camp with Sierra Nevada. You can see all the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp winners in this gallery....below is Keith's winning film. After storyboarding their adventure, Kirsten helped Keith in shooting this short film.
It's noted that this video is exclusive property of Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
Cory and I wake up early, which is a good thing if you want to try out Portland's Voodoo Donuts. As you can see from the below storyboard, we happened to walk by later in the day and look at the lines. Kayla, Cory's cousin, told us that the lines are even worse around midnight when, after drinking at all the Brew Pubs, the doughnut munchies kick in.
The girl at the information desk at the airport told me we had to try Voodoo Donuts. And that is exactly what we did on a Sunday morning. We walked from our hotel about 6:30-7am and we were able to get right in, by the way Voodoo Donuts is open 24 hours.
We ended up getting half a dozen, way too many doughnuts normally, but how can you pass up trying the famous Voodoo Doll - the face drawn out with a heart that is pierced by a pretzel which then oozes out red raspberry filling. :-) Check out the Oreo doughnut, and hello....they even had a bubble gum doughnut. Do you see the Fruit Loops one?!?!
Can you say "sick to our stomachs". But it was worth it. We even went a 2nd time to try out the one we missed and just had to try "Bacon Maple bar"....it was REALLY GOOD. It was liking having bacon and pancakes with maple syrup.
Check Voodoo Donuts out next time you are in Portland, Oregon.
